Important guest/meet and greet changes & and a word from Mark Strickson

Last night, we received work from Mark Strickson that he would be unable to attend Chicago TARDIS 2017.  Mark had this to say about canceling his appearance at the convention:

I was so looking forward to coming to the faboulous ‘Chicago 2017 Tardis event’.  My first US convention was in Chicago.  Pat Troughton and I flew over and had a wonderful ride into town on the night we arrived.  Neither Pat or I had visited America before so we felt we’d landed on a movie set! I shall never forget the sight of the wonderful light patterns formed over the city by Chicago’s amazing skyscrapers.

Chicago is probably my favourite city in America.  The grand architecture says ‘We’ve arrived”.  On a smaller scale, Dunedin – where I live in New Zealand – is somewhat similar.  There was a massive gold strike here so we have enormous granite stone banks and our railway station is the most photographed building in the southern hemisphere.  Google it!

I’m so sorry I can’t be with you.  When I should have been in Chicago, I’ll be filming a simulation of what will happen when one of the volcanoes beneath Auckland erupts…  It will happen, at some point.

I really am very disappointed not to be able to come but it comes down to the availability of around 20 volcanologists…  Damn them!

Big hugs to you all and have a great time at the convention.

Very best
Mark
