Get to know our first wave of guest announcements

Recently, we announced our first wave of guests for Chicago TARDIS 2020.  

We think this first group is a unique blend of new series faces, behind the scenes players, and familiar presences within the Doctor Who and overall sci-fi community. 

Read on to discover who we're welcoming so far!


Sylvie Briggs made her first appearance in Doctor Who during series 12's "Spyfall, Part 2", playing historical figure Ada Lovelace. Outside of Doctor Who, she stars as recurring character Ellie Marsden in ITV's Cold Feet - a comedy-drama following the lives of 30-something couples navigating their love lives in Manchester.

Mark Dexter has been featured in numerous stage productions and television shows. He first appeared in Doctor Who in 2008 as Dad in the two-part “Silence in the Library”/”Forest of the Dead”. He most recently appeared the 12th series of the show as inventor Charles Babbage. 

Shobna Gulati has been seen on countless UK television shows - most notably Coronation Street and EastEnders - before joining the cast of Doctor Who as the mother of companion Yasmin KahnNajia.

Jason Haigh-Ellery is the Managing Director of Big Finish Productions and co-producer of their Doctor Who audio dramas. He has also been involved in production for several TV, film, and theater projects.

Mickey Lewis works hard portraying various baddies and background players in the world of Doctor Who. His repertoire includes Daleks, Cybermen, and various other monsters throughout the time of the New Series. He has also been featured in many major films such as The Last Jedi, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Wonder Woman among many others.

Bhavnisha Parmar had featured in many shorts, TV films, and several series - most notably Derren Has a Breakdown - before her role in Doctor Who as Yasmin Kahn's sister, Sonya.

Michael Troughton is the son of Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton. He has been featured in many Big Finish audios as well as Professor Albert in the episode "Last Christmas". He has also appeared in countless UK television roles.

Jimmy Vee is best known in the Doctor Who universe for playing roles like Bannakaffalatta in "Voyage of the Damned", as well as the Graske in the Doctor Who spin-off series The Sarah Jane Adventures. He is also known as the actor for R2-D2 in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, replacing the late Kenny Baker. Jimmy has also appeared in several other notable TV and movie roles.
