Our Anti-Harassment Policy

We at Chicago TARDIS want all Whovians to be able to enjoy themselves free of any type

of harassment.

Please know that we are very serious about the below policy.

You will also see this policy posted around the convention space during the weekend

and at the back of our program book.

Chicago TARDIS is dedicated to providing a harassment-free convention experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of convention participants (including our actor, writer, and other guests) in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any convention venue, including talks. Convention participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the convention without a refund at the discretion of the convention organizers. Convention staff are also subject to complying with the rules of our harassment policy. (If you have an issue with a staff member, please use the contact information at the bottom of this page to report such issues.)

Harassment includes verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, and/or religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Vendors and members of Artist Alley are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, dealers should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the convention organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the convention with no refund. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of convention staff immediately. Convention staff can be identified by laminated badges reading “Staff”.  In addition, security team members on duty will be wearing neon safety vests.
